Jay’s Care Foundation
Field of Dreams
The Jay’s Care Foundation Field Of Dreams program provides funding to design, refurbish and build safe spaces for children and youth to play baseball, develop life skills and learn from positive role models. In the last five years, Jays Care has committed over $8 million to 66 Field Of Dreams projects across Canada.
Jay’s Grant to North Regina – 2020
- Relocating our Challenger Diamond to a more convenient and accessible location. This will ensure Challenger players have a more safe and enjoyable diamond to play on.
- Increasing the size of our K1 Diamond to 280 foot fences. This will allow our Intermediate, Junior and Senior Divisions to play at home in our own park.
Jay’s Grant to North Regina – 2018
In 2018, NRLL received a grant of $28,250 from the Field of Dreams program. This grant helped further our league goals of creating a safe park for visitors AND keeping youth baseball affordable. This grant allowed us to make significant improvements to our park. Both of these projects were completed through the generous help of our amazing volunteers. Thank you, Jay’s Care Foundation, for choosing NRLL as one of your 16 grant recipients this year. Our players, families and volunteers are forever grateful!
George Donauer Diamond (K2)
We removed the crusher dust from the infield and replaced it with red shale. This significantly improved player safety and allows for faster drying in wet weather.
Fence Capping
We also placed fence capping on the 2,500 feet of fencing within our park. This improvement continues to ensure players and visitors are safe from the sharp and dangerous edges that top the metal fencing.
North Regina Little League acknowledges our operation on Treaty 4 territory, ancestral lands of the Cree, Salteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and the traditional homeland of the Metis.
