Ben Hebert

Before he became a world-renowned curler, Ben Hebert got his start on the baseball diamonds at North Regina Little League, where he played as a child and developed his competitive spirit. To this day, he proudly says that baseball remains his favourite sport.

Ben went on to become one of the most decorated curlers in Canadian history. He is an Olympic gold medalist (2010 Vancouver Games), multiple-time Brier and World Champion, and a key member of some of curling’s most dominant teams.

Though his athletic career took him to the curling rink, Ben’s roots in North Regina baseball remain a proud part of his journey—and a testament to the strong foundation built through community sport.

Dustin Molleken

Dustin Molleken began his baseball journey with North Regina Little League, playing from ages 8 to 12. His passion and dedication to the game led to a remarkable 19-year professional career, which included time in Major League Baseball, Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) in Japan, and numerous international appearances with Team Canada.

A career highlight came on July 4, 2016, when Dustin made his MLB debut with the Detroit Tigers against the Cleveland Indians. He also spent two seasons pitching in Japan, where he made history as the first Canadian to pitch in the Japanese World Series, and was teammates with global superstar Shohei Ohtani.

Dustin proudly represented Team Canada 12 times at the international level and is now giving back to the sport he loves. Based once again in his hometown of Regina, he is currently a pitching coach with Team Canada’s Junior and Senior National Teams, Team Saskatchewan, and Big League Experience. Dustin is passionate about mentoring the next generation of Saskatchewan baseball players and continues to be a role model both on and off the field.
